Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why we collect it, what happens to it afterwards, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website only.

Who is responsible for your information

NORTH AMERICAN NEW ENERGY GROUP LTD., a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada under incorporation number BC1598948, with its registered office at 8117 Cantley Rd., Richmond BC V7C 3R6, Canada, decides how and why the personal information described here is used and is responsible for it. In the rest of this policy, "we" and "us" mean that company.

What we collect

We collect what you type into the inquiry form on our contact page: your name, your company, your email address, your phone number, the inquiry type, and your message. Our web server also records the standard technical information every request carries — the IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, and the browser's user agent string — in its logs. This website has no visitor account and no visitor login, and we collect nothing else about you.

Why we collect it

We use the details in your inquiry to answer it and to follow it up with you. We use the server logs to keep the site available and to block abusive traffic. We do not sell personal information, we do not trade it, and we do not use it for advertising or for building a profile of you.

How we use it

A completed inquiry is stored as a single record. The people who maintain this website read that record in order to answer you, and they do not alter what you wrote. We do not use your inquiry for a different purpose without asking you first, and we do not add you to a marketing list you did not ask to join.

How long we keep it

We keep an inquiry record for at least 12 months and at most 24 months, counted from the last time we acted on it. The minimum follows section 35(1) of the Personal Information Protection Act of British Columbia, which requires information used to make a decision that directly affects you to be kept for at least one year. The maximum follows clause 4.5.2 of Schedule 1 to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which asks us to set both a minimum and a maximum. At the maximum we remove your name, email address, phone number, and company from the record and keep only the message text and the dates, so it can no longer be connected to you, as section 35(2) of the Personal Information Protection Act and clause 4.5.3 of Schedule 1 to PIPEDA require. Our server logs are kept on a separate clock: we hold each log entry for 12 months from the day it is written and then delete it. We use those logs only to keep the site secure and to work out what went wrong when something breaks, and we do not link them to inquiry records.

Who we share it with

We store inquiry records in our own database and read them there. We do not share them with anyone outside the company, we do not pass them to a third-party processor, and we do not sell or trade them. We disclose an inquiry record only where the law requires it, or where we need it to establish or defend a legal claim.

Where your information is stored

This website and its databases run on a server located in the United States. Personal information you send us through the inquiry form, and the server logs described above, are therefore stored and processed in the United States. While your information is there it is subject to the law of the United States, and authorities in that country may be able to obtain it through a lawful request for access. We are telling you where your information sits so that you can decide what to send us; if you have a question about it, write to us through the channel in the last section of this policy.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete or anonymise your inquiry record before the maximum period above is up, and withdraw the consent you gave when you sent the inquiry. Write to us through the channel in the last section of this policy. We may need to confirm who you are before we act, and we answer within the time the applicable law allows. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies, does not load third-party analytics scripts, and does not embed social media tracking. It has no visitor account and no visitor login, so nothing here follows you from page to page or from site to site.

How we protect it

Inquiry records sit in our own database and are reachable only from the maintenance back office, which is restricted to the people who run this website. The site itself is served over an encrypted connection. No system is completely secure; if a breach affected your information and created a real risk to you, we would notify you and the regulator as the law requires.

Applicable law

This policy follows the Personal Information Protection Act of British Columbia, Canada and, where it applies to us, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when what we collect or what we do with it changes. The date shown on this page is the date of the text you are reading, and the version published here is the one that applies.
